New Year, New Successes!
Happy New Year! Every new year is a chance for a fresh start, take chances you didn’t the previous year and expereince even more success! Sometimes new year resolutions can be daunting and you feel like you can’t meet them, let us share some tips to make your resolutions attainable!
Set small goals that lead up to a big end goal. For example, if you want to lose 60 pounds this year, you can set a goal to lose 5 pounds a month. Seems realistic right? That’s the point! Big numbers/goals can scare us into self doubt and we don’t meet our exceptions. Setting a smaller goal per month is a lot easier in our experience.
Have a support system. We cannot achieve our goals alone, we need a good support system to encourage us along the way. Developing a good support system can help you stay on track and accountable to reach your goals. Your support system can literally be 1 person or 10 people, just make sure whoever your support is will help encourage you when you need it the most.
Change one behavior at a time. One thing after another, whatever your goal is start by changing one behavior that will help you achieve the goal. It took time for you to develop the habits you want to change, so it will take you even more time to change those habits. Don’t overwhelm yourself with trying to change everything at once, it won’t work! Relax, breathe and unlearn those habits you want to change one at a time.
Treat Yoself! As you go along you journey to reach your goals, make sure to reward yourself along the way. For every mini goal you meet, treat yourself to your favorite snack, coffee, meal, night out, etc. You deserve to be rewarded for your work, don’t forget to treat yourself!
You’re not perfect. It’s okay if you fell off from your goals, it happens. Just make sure you don’t give up, reach out to your support system and get back on track. Everyone has good/bad days and weeks, it does NOT make you failure; so don’t beat yourself up about missing a goal by an exact date. There’s always tomorrow.
Let’s get the wins in 2019!
